Hi lauriellr,
I can totally relate to where you're coming from, and I smoked for 45 years. I'm on my 11th day of not smoking, and never thought I'd get this far. The fact that you're setting a quit day is a positive step, and I did that too. I tried to stop many times, and never succeeded before, but don't give up. I'm using every nicotine replacement product I can get to help me, and I find the gum really takes the edge off the cravings for me. I also use the patch, and the inhaler. Whatever works! Like you, I always wondered how so many people could quit, and I never could. I never joined a forum like this before, and I find that it helps. Everyone is so supportive, which really helps alot. Please keep reading the stories, and posting, and I'll be rooting for you on your journey!
