    Day 3.

Gotta say right now that the mornings seem to be pretty rough.
Obviously, I've been used to a similar routine for many years between having my morning 'puff's to go along with my coffee. Reality for me is that I really miss smoking but the decision has been made to quit for many reasons and I'm trying to stick to it.  For me quitting is not a day to day goal but almost an hour to hour goal. Hopefully it gets easier in the hours and days to come.

Hi! Hang in there!   I’m only in Day 5.  My routine that’s killing me was in the evenings, a glass of wine, a couple or many smokes, and relax...ah!   I’m not doing great but I’m in a better place than I was.   Most important for me is to remember to reach out to someone, tell them what’s happening, they will help.
Also the 4 D’s - by the time I’ve had deep breaths chugged a glass of water, I’m into something else. The cravings do pass, most of the time.

Visit hear often, type like mad! Lol there are some great people on here with more experience than I.   Don’t give up! You got this.

    Kraysal,

Congrats on making it to 3 days without a smoke!

Those first days and weeks are the hardest. I walked around in a fog and my goal at times was simply getting to the next commercial break. I get up anywhere between 4:30 and 5:00am most days and have a few hours of quiet computer work time and my routine included at least 4 coffees and 4 smokes before anyone got up. One thing I learned during my quit was that the physicalwithdrawal was easier than the mental. Creatures of habit that we are I was still checking my jacket pocket for non-existent smoke 6 months after i quit.

Drink lots of water. Find something new to do to keep distracted - watch a candle burning if that works. LOL. Wahtever works!

Seriously though, the first 3 days the nicotine is out of your system, you should start to smell and taste food better. Soon you'll notice your breathing will start to get a bit better and that cough will start to go away.

    Hi krasyal1975!

Hang in! Hang in! Hang in!

I promise you it will get better. I can't tell you the number of times I thought I was going to spin out of control. The cravings were so intense.

Like you, I had to focus on an hour at a time because a day just seemed way too long. Like atp and lisa said, do whatever it takes to get through that hour.

Those first few days are super challenging, AND, you're doing it!
This is hard, and it's okay if you miss smoking... I get that part for sure ... and saying goodbye ain't easy.

Be proud of the three days you have behind you!
