Hi all:
Just thought I'd drop a line to say that I haven't used the NRT since March and I haven't had a cigarette since last November. My quit is going quite well. I do think about smoking from time to time and have the odd weak craving, but the thing that would never have me going back to smoking (as least as far as I can tell from here) is that I've paid off more than half of my debt that I rung up in bad times when I wasn't employed. Not having to buy the NRT or smokes has gone directly to paying off the debt, and I think I've done a good job of doing so so far. I figure that by not using the NRT, I've saved more than $3,000 since I quit! That's a pretty good mental motivator.
So I just thought I'd drop a line and let those thinking of quitting that quitting is entirely possible. The first three days are tough, then the first three weeks are a little less tough and it may take three months before things start to get "easier" as they have for me, more or less, but it is doable. I can't believe that I'm closing in on almost six months without the use of any nicotine at all!
