My Quit date was April 1 and it’s now May 1...OMG....I’ve made it this far and feeling much better.  Cravings are light and controlled by Thrive gum.  Now have to set a quit date for that.  Energy levels have improved and overall health.  Been walking several days a week as well as biking which really perks me up.  Thanks for all the support and Good Luck to all.

    Hello Donr,

Wow how time flies! Congratulations on you being quit for a month now!

I am so happy you are seeing the positives of quitting.

I am just curious, do you think being home more due to Covid19 and not having access to public places made your quitting easier or harder?

    Warm regards

    Renee

Hello, I response to you question regarding pubic places and smoking.  For years now it has been socially unacceptable to smoke in public.  So having more time alone has really made smoking more accessible, however I find it a matter of just keeping my mind focused on healthier activities.  When i get the urge to smoke I put on my shoes and go for a walk or keep my hands busy doing macrame or really just move my thoughts to different actions just to break that thought of wanting to smoke. I find myself more aware of what kind of thoughts run through my mind.  I was a mindless smoker who’d just light up a cigarette out of the habit.  Now I ask myself when crave hits “ How are you feeling right now without a cigarette, I really need air and food and water......not cigarettes.  Don’t know if this makes sense but it works for me.
