A big congrats to both you and treepeo.

Having read about what hard core smokers you both were and you managed to quit, encouraged me in my quit

You know when I first started my quit back on January 01 I couldn't imagine 1000 days smoke free, heck I was shooting to beat my record of 7 days. After the first few months it got easier, and now i look forward to those milestones - 1 year, 1000 days, etc. They seem so achievable, just takes time (literally).

    Hi wimporswim.

I am just seeing this now as I don't usually go into the day to day forum.  A huge congratulations to you to, my friend!  Can you believe we did it?  Holy cow.  Who would have thunk it?

You know, I went out with my niece today.  She smokes and is not ready to quit, which I completely understand.  But she asked me if I still come on this site, and I told her yes, I like to support other people who are attempting to quit.  And I showed her my stats to date.

    I quit 2y 9m 9 days ago.
Cigarettes not smoked:  25,347 - my niece freaked out over this stat
Time not spent smoking  - 88 days - also astonishing

At one point today, we were having dinner, and she excused herself to go outside to have a smoke.  I am glad I don't have to do that any more.

Wimporswim, I am so proud of what we have accomplished.  We did this together, and we triumphed.  Aren't we lucky?

Wow jeyan, way to go!  Three years as a non-smoker - that is fantastic!
