    Good Evening Everyone,

As is every year, right after Christmas we are reminded that the New Year is soon upon us! It makes me think of all the things that happened in the past year, the good things and the challenges. It's the challenges that really stick out - especially if I've been able to make positive change or learn something from an experience.

What mountain did you climb this year? Were you new to quitting and took the plunge? Did you tackle the morning cigarette with a new routine? Did you face a party or wedding without smoking?

Let's celebrate those climbs, climbs that were big and those that were small - they are all worth celebrating!

    Hi Jennifer,

I most definitely took the plunge in 2017, and decided to quit smoking.  And this time I was serious, and I did it.  This Friday, December 29th will be my one year anniversary!  And there were so many firsts that came along with my quit.  My first dinner, my first mini-trip, my first visit to the CNE, my first Christmas party, all as a non-smoker. My voice is stronger because I am breathing so much easier now.  And I no longer feel guilty about smoking.    Instead, I feel a real sense of pride that I didn't give up, no matter how tough it got.

And in large part, I owe my success to everyone here on this site.  You are all an inspiration to me!  Thank you all!

    Good Afternoon treepeo,

What a wonderful post you've shared with all of us!

Congrats on reaching that one year anniversary - we can all appreciate how hard you worked to reach that milestone!

Love how you've described your series of "firsts" that you experienced as you quit - you've really given us a sense of what your year of quitting was like first-hand !
