I just had my last cigarette. Tomorrow is my quit day. I’ve been through this before. I know I can do it. Whatever I go through, I will find a healthy and more effective way to deal with it. This is who I want to be. I want to be the person whose life isn’t dictated by cigarettes. I want to be healthy, mentally strong, and free. It’s easy to always say tomorrow so I’ll wake up in the morning and say “No matter what, I am not going to smoke today. This is the beginning of a new chapter.” Smoking doesn’t make me feel good about myself. It doesn’t provide hope for my future. It doesn’t strengthen relationships. Quitting takes nothing from me and only gives. It’s tough but so am I.
