    Hello Everyone,

Spring is here yet maybe not in the air for all of us yet, depending on where you live.  Seeing you are starting to talk about your plans for the anticipated nice weather, any chance you have goals of exercise?

Being indoors for the most part in the Winter, our nature is to want to start moving when the sun is shining.  How are you all getting motivated to do so?  Any of you using apps that count your daily steps?  Do you have walking and running buddies?  Intent to walk your dogs more and for longer periods?

Our workplace is starting to organize walks at lunch and encouraging gym memberships + physical training sessions.  Some have joined the Running Room Walk/Run program at runtoquit.ca.  You can distract from smoking by doing a 5km course and potentially win cash prizes and travel prizes.  Using the coupon code WRTQ18 entitles you to get support with a coach online or in person with other peers as well.  Or simply "Do it Yourself".  Deadline is May 15th and in store classes starting now.

It would be great to hear what others have in mind for themselves.  Please share with us to help us all get started and motivated.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

    Marianne

    Hi Marianne,

I am always so busy at work that I eat lunch while working at my desk every day.  But I have decided that when the weather gets better (hopefully soon), I am going to try to get away and go for a walk at lunch, even if it is only for 10 minutes.  And I plan to do more walking overall as well, alternating between a slow and a faster pace.  Given my physical limitations, walking is about the best I can do, but it can really make a difference.  Like they say, doing something is better than doing nothing.  And I can't wait to be able to really enjoy the outdoors again.  Come on, Spring, will you hurry up and get here?  LOL
