    FOR ONTARIO RESIDENTS ONLY

Services in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec, Prince Edward Island,  and the Yukon are unaffected

The Canadian Cancer Society has proudly operated Smokers' Helpline for nearly 20 years and has supported over 250,000 people in their quit journey. On September 11, 2019 the Government of Ontario announced that Telehealth Ontario will begin delivering phone-based quit smoking support as of October 1, 2019. While Smokers' Helpline will no longer provide phone support in Ontario, we will continue to provide our trusted, evidence-based digital services - Smokers' Helpline.ca, email support, and text messaging.

    TO ACCESS QUIT SMOKING SUPPORT

Speak with a Telehealth Ontario Care Coach - 1 866-797-0000 (toll-free) or the number on cigarette packages

Telehealth Ontario Smoking Cessation Program Overview:

Telehealth Ontario will offer a smoking cessation program to support Ontarians and their families by:
    - Providing evidence-informed smoking cessation supports and information.
    - Supporting callers through follow-up calls where additional supports and coaching are required.
    - Offering callers access to a Telehealth Ontario nurse to address any symptoms identified during the interaction.

Telehealth will operate the Smoking Cessation Program using a case management approach, offering callers bilingual smoking cessation support (and additional real-time translation services that support over 300 languages) from a Care Coach between 10am and 10pm daily and access to Care Coach Assistants 24 hours a day, seven days a week to help callers with ongoing supports and information.
