today feels like literal hell. My head is killing me I keep getting hot then cold and nothing is going right. Between not having any heat or hot water getting yelled at because people don’t listen and having to go to work for 3 and stay 9 I’m freaking out. Every shift for the last 2 weeks I haven’t got out until 10 and there’s always been at least one issue with a client or therapist. I don’t know how I’m going to get through the afternoon and night. There’s a little tiny part of me that says I should just buy smokes but the bigger part of me knows it won’t solve the issue and I’m fighting to stay smoke free.

    Oh, mommasgirl!

I'm so sorry this is soooo hard. And it really really is. Let the people around you know what your doing, and if you need to go cry then do that. Be as gentle as you can with yourself over the next few days.

You get to decide what your "quit" looks like, mommasgirl, and I promise it does get better!

Those words were given to me when I thought I was going to implode and it's true!

Just get through five minutes at a time.

You can do this. You ARE doing this.

    Hi again mommasgirl,

Hang in there. You're a fighter. Quitting smoking isn't going to kill you, and it's already making you stronger!

I'm glad that the part of you that says 'just buy smokes' is small. It will get smaller and smaller over time now that you're not feeding it.

Justfortoday, awesome advice, thanks! For all of those who are in early days of quitting, be gentle with yourself, give yourself some extra T.L.C., and remember that it will get better! You're giving yourself a gift that will keep on giving.

    Regards,
    Efram
