Hi Judiwantstoquit,
Welcome to SHO. It's great to hear that you have decided to quit smoking.
You don't have to do it cold turkey. Nowadays, there is the patch, mist, gum, and medication. Perhaps you should speak to your doctor to see what he or she recommends for you. And if not your doctor, I am sure a pharmacist can make some suggestions.
You might want to look at some of the posts on this site from people using NRTs. Most people find them really helpful.
As I am sure you know, quitting isn't easy, but you can do it. You need to avoid triggers, distract yourself, drink lots of water, and be willing to change your routines. I know it may sound like a lot of work, but most of it just makes sense. You should read the information on this site to help you prepare for your quit. The more you prepare, the easier it will be.
Glad to have you on board, Judiwantstoquit. You are making the right decision to quit. You won't regret it.
