Feeling really happy, and so grateful for all the help and support from the quit coaches and all the others that shared on the helpline. I know i wouldnt have made it without you! Its a great feeling to think we can help each other through this quitting process as although we may have different ways of doing things, we all are working towards the same goal. One day, sometimes one minute at a time, and Not One Puff Ever! Wishing everyone a success in their journey -m

Thanks butterflyna, hope all is going good for you today. I tried quitting several times in the past, using different aids and decided this time to use the patch. I knew that I needed extra help as cold turkey never worked for me, but lots of people have quit doing it that way so I think each person has to figure out what is the best way for them. And checking the helpline can give us so many good bits of info and tips to help keep us going forward. I also have used nic gum, but cut in half as A whole piece just tastes really bad. I havent needed it very much but keep it in my pocket when I go out just in case I may need it! I really like the orange flavour. Glad to hear you have your quit date set. Its not easy, but so worth it! We can do this.
Thanks efreeman75 for your well wishes, it means so much to hear from all of you on the helpline. I have noticed lately I feel somewhat isolated, as I havent been going out very much lately with the cold weather, so these posts are a life saver. Lets keep on moving forward one day at a time  -m

Thanks Emily, I am noticing that I have periods of time now and then that I am not thinking about my addiction. What a nice feeling. Sometimes It seemed like it would never leave me alone, but as everyone has said..it does get better, we just have to be patient, and help ourselves and each other through the tough times. I really like using the 4Ds, that has helped when nothing else seemed to. And these posts are just what i needed to hear!  Thanks again - m

Hi butterflyna, good for your for having your quit date set.. I agree with what so many others have said that having a plan is so important. It helps to keep us focused on what we are really trying to accomplish, and thats to become a nonsmoker. And there is so much help available now, all we have to do is ask. I like what it says at the start of this helpline ‘quitting smoking is easier when you are not doing it alone’. That statement really stands out for me everytime I read it. We do not have to go through this by ourselves. We are all here to help each other! So glad you joined the helpline, keep us posted  -m
