Hi Alice,
First of all, you are doing great! You are well on your way to being a non-smoker, so good for you!
I wouldn't worry too much about your weight gain. It is not how much you weigh that is important. It is living a healthy lifestyle. You sure are getting your steps in, so keep it up. And as the weather improves and we become less restricted, you may even be able to increase your activity level. If you are still worried, try to be more mindful about what you are eating. For example, perhaps you can try using lower calorie salad dressings. Or eat veggies plain without any dip. Little changes can mean a lot.
Also realize that your body is still adjusting to this new normal of not getting all of those poisonous chemicals. No doubt it is rejoicing, and maybe that is why we gain weight as well. For sure we get more nutrients from food as non-smokers.
Be kind and patient with yourself, Alice. Quitting smoking is the most important thing you could do for yourself. Stay strong and remember NOPE (Not One Puff Ever). You are going to be just fine.
