Welcome, railroad - we are so glad you are here!

Congratulations on day 1 - that is a VERY big step. You must be very proud.

I am curious: what has motivated you to quit? Its very common to be 'not at all excited' about quitting.... but that motivation....your reasons for quitting, it can be a strong powerful force in the less-than-thrilling moments
    during the quit process.

Please feel free to read through the community forum threads and continue to join in the conversation if you'd like. Lastly, we thank you for your inspiring words to 'stay strong' to all those making a go of their smoke-free day.

    All the best you!
    Sarah

    Hi railroad,

Good for you for taking this major step!  Wimporswim and I were also long time smokers, and we both felt that it was our time to quit.  It sounds like you are at the same point.  That will probably really help you get through the quitting process.

Brace yourself.  It will be a bumpy ride but well worth it.

Day 1 started. I needed to pull myself together and get ready for this commitment. Didn’t want to start and buy a pack after few hours. But now all ready and motivated. I am doing this for the obvious reasons but the main one is to get in shape to be able to play with my growing little angels. Nice to meet everyone here and let’s support each other and remain strong!

    mymama,

Congratulations on setting a quit date! It sounds like you have already thought about your smoking habit and this will certainly help with planning. It is never to late to quit. Please feel free to let us know how you are getting along.

We are all here for you,

    Jenna Lee
