    I just want to report that the patch is a great help to me in my quit.  I'm now on step 2 and realize I still have a long way to go, but my progress has been steady this time.  In the past I tried Champix for a few days but didn't like the way it made me feel, so I went back to the patch.  I know that no quit aid can do it for me but am grateful to the patch for diminishing the physical cravings, thereby making it easier  for me to do the psychological work.  I am optimistic that I will achieve my goal of being a non-smoker for the rest of my life.

    Glad that you are finding the patch helpful! You explained it's purpose perfectly: making the cravings more manageable so you can focus on all the other stuff that comes with quitting.

    Hi I am also using the patch. i agree, physical cravings taken care of so i can concentrate on the psychological aspect, w hich is the hardest.  I believe its our minds that have to quit.  My evil smoker twin whispering in my ear. LOL

    The addict within has been relatively quiet recently.  However, I try to constantly be aware that she is ever-present, even on her quieter days.  Perhaps she will always be a factor that I need to take into account.  Be that as it may, I'm am pleased with how this first week is going, and find the patch a big help in diminishing the cravings.

    Yes, I am also on the patch. 3 weeks in. I find that it really does help.  ALOT.  i just bought my 2nd Step 1 supply for another 3 weeks.  I will follow instructions and do step 2 and 1.  But i really dread the day, where no more patch.  Will i be craveing free?  Thoughts?

    Hi Iscianname, 

    I'm happy that you've found something that's working so well for you. 

    As you work you're way through the steps of the patch, the nicotine levels diminish. Most of the people that I speak with don't notice much of a difference when they stop the patch. Maybe a few days where the body adjusts. 

    The makers of the patch set out a timeline for how to use the patch, but that may differ depending on the person. Some may be on it for shorter than that and others longer then that. Just listen to your body and what it is telling you. 

    It is important to have some strategies on how to deal with the psychological cravings as well, like you mentioned earlier. Just to cover all of the bases.

    Hi, so I’ve been using the patch for quite a while now. , but I don’t use one I use 2. One I find I still have cravings, with two it seems like I never smoked before .

    Im using the patch. Just on my second box of step 1. They say to keep on step one for 8 weeks and then go onto step 2. Ill see how things go but so far so good. I have had cravings but i use the mist spray when they come on strong and that seems to be working well.
    I remember in a past quit i used champix and while it did work, i slipped and was back to being a smoker again a few weeks in. the tablets almost made the quit too easy. Im not saying i like the cravings but they are good to go through to experience how hard it is and to fight hard... use that then to remind ourselves of the struggle when we are tempted. Its like trust in a relationship.. so difficult to build yet so easy to demolish.
