So I quit March 9th. Tonight I bought a pack and smoked almost the whole pack. What the heck I was doing good, I had a major upset it's no excuse. I feel I'm stronger than that and will always have things in life that makes me want that smoke. What the heck. It makes me realize how strong a hold these smokes have on me. Guess I have to start again tomorrow . I'm ready for it.

    Good Afternoon cor,

I'm so glad you've come by to share your experience with slipping. Know you are in good company - so many people, most people in fact, have had a number of slips and gone on to successfully quit.

You are right when you say, "i'm stronger than that and will always have things in my life that make me want that smoke". So true! What do you think you could add to your quit plan to cope with those things the trigger cravings? Anything you enjoy doing that would act as a reward and distraction?

Come by and let us know you are doing anytime - we love to hear updates!

    Hi cor,

I can relate.  I didn't even make it two whole days before I lit up.  And then I smoked my brains out, way more than I would have normally.  I knew it was going to be hard to quit, but man, I was not prepared for how hard it was really going to be.  Having said that, two days later I got back on the bandwagon and tried again.  And this time I did it, and I haven't smoked for 15 months.

So I am glad you are going to give it another shot.  This time, you know what triggered you before, so you can learn from that and turn things around.  Keep your chin up, you can do this.  Believe in yourself.

So here I go again. I can go a week or 2 or 3 or 4weeks. Then  for some reason I can not control myself. I really don't know how to get past this. The 1st or 3rd week is ok then the control goes out the door. Yeesh what's up with that. I know the day after I smoke I can go 2 or 3 weeks again . What's up with that.

    Hello Cor,

As others shared, quitting smoking has its challenges.  Reminding yourself of your motivation and being equipped is key.

Jennifer suggested rewarding yourself as it keeps up your momentum, any thoughts of what might help you?

Feel free to let us know what you feel sets you back?  Any particular moment, situation that you can recall?

We know you will get through this and quit for good, let's brainstorm together so you accomplish your ultimate goal!  Believe in yourself as we do- you can do this!
