    Hi auntbertie52,

You are making the right decision.  Quitting smoking will change your life in so many positive ways.

It sounds like you have already done some good planning.  You have things to do to keep yourself busy, and you have your gum to help you along as well.  Remember to drink lots of water, because it will help rid your body of toxins.  And just take it one step at a time.  And post as often as you like.  There is usually someone around to help you.  I look forward to reading your posts tomorrow.

    Hi Aunt Bertie 52,

I found Day 2 really hard, too.  Keep it up, you are doing great.  And how the heck did you manage to lose any weight at all over Christmas?  Talk about a Christmas miracle - good for you!  I just joined a weight loss program which I will start on Monday, because I realized that I can't lose the weight on my own.  I need some guidance.  My friend is going to do it with me, so that should really help a lot.

    Hi auntbertie52,

Congratulations on making the decision to quit and being smoke free for 2 days! You have a great list of strategies to turn to when the cravings hit.

It sounds like you're making a lot of positive changes right now for your health. I'm sure your body will thank you for it.

Let us know how things are going,
    Emily

i slipped today and had a cigarette in the morning and one after supper.  i forgot about drinking lots of water.   so i am back to it   i think a shower in the morning before breakfast will help get rid of that early one
