Hello anberlincanucks - happy day #4 of your quit & thank you so much for your honest post.
While withdrawal can be annoying, and frustrating, and make you wanna scream! ...its a regular part of the quitting process. While you are having a tough time of it, look at you! You made it to day #4! Way to go. Do you have plans this weekend? Can you get some extra rest and/or make some time for self-care? Its super important and, well, you deserve it!
Brieffree shared what we call the 4Ds (thank you, Brieffree!). Its a great way to remember some quick tips while experiencing a craving. Any distractions that work well for you? Something that keeps your hands and/or mind off smoking?
How often are you using the inhaler? It is meant to be used generously, especially at the beginning of your quit.
And while its fantastic that you and your partner are quitting together - you can be each other's cheer squad! - remember that your quits will probably be two different experiences...and thats ok! There is no one way, or "right way" to quit. So continue to be there for each other, because you're both doing it, day by day.
All the best
-Sarah
P.S. Do call the Smokers Helpline if you want to speak to one of our quit coaches at 1-877-513-5333...they will be there tomorrow EST from 9am-5pm, closed Monday for the Civic Holiday.
Have a great long, smoke-free, weekend everyone!
