    Hi Kyle,

In the past, I would Google SHO and that is how I got into the site.  Now when I google it, it still brings me to the old site.  So I find that I am going to the activation email you guys sent me in order to log in.  I would much prefer to Google SHO like I did in the past.

This is important, because when I first started thinking about quitting, I was googling things related to smoking, and that is how I found this site and the forums.  It would be much easier for everyone, including possible new members, to get in through Google.

    Hi Treepeo,

I'm afraid we have very little control over Google's algorithm, and we have begun referring to the site as SmokersHelpline.ca to further differentiate with the old site. I find if you Google "Smokers' Helpline" or "Quit Smoking" you should find this site fairly consistently within the top results.

    I hope that helps.

Okay, thanks so much, Kyle.  I will try that rather than going through my activation email.  I'll let you know how it goes.

Well, I tried smokershelpline.ca and it is still bringing me to the old site.  So to get on here tonight, once again I went through my activation email.  I thought the old site was supposed to be shut down, but it is still up.

    That's disappointing.

We're working on trying to get the old site down, to reduce confusion, but it's in the hands of our prior vendor, unfortunately. We are at least going to work on re-pointing the sub-domains to our new site, which should redirect you appropriately. I believe that should be done by end of week.

I figured out how to get in.  If I type in Smoking Help, it brings me to a page that has Smokers Helpline, and from there, it brings me into the new site. Go figure.

Anyway, I am happy that I can get in that way rather than through the email I got, because it will eventually disappear.

    Treepeo,
I cleared my browsing history (and cache) on Google Chrome.  So it deleted my hidden copy of the old sho site.  Then I got on the new site (same address) and bookmarked it on to my home page.  Same address but it's not bringing me to the old site anymore. Hope this helps.

So here is my newest problem.  I am signing into this site through Facebook.  It used to be that I said remember me, and it would for 2 or 3 times.  Now, it has stopped remembering me at all, and every time I have to sign in with my name and password.  Is there a way I can fix this such that I don't have to plug in the same info time after time?

Just to be clear, even if I have to enter all my info each time, I will do it, because to me, that is a small price to pay to access this site.  I am so grateful to be able to touch base with all of our members.

    Hey treepeo,

I'll have to test further, but I believe this would be a setting on your Facebook account, rather than on SmokersHelpline.ca. If you tell Facebook to "remember you" then that should stop happening.

Please give that a try and let me know if it helps.

    Hi Kyle,

I'm not quite sure how I did it, but it seems that once again I am being remembered now, so thanks.  It wasn't a really big deal, just a bit annoying.
