    Hi Nubian,

Congratulations on your decision to quit smoking. There is much to be excited about, the most important being a longer, healthier life. The money saved will be a launch for an enjoyable new life style, and not being a victim to a vicious habit makes you a winner!

    I wish you every success.

    Hi All,

Yes, Nubian, a quit date can be exciting for many reasons, some of which eagerquit outlined above. But it can also be nerve-wracking.

It can take a lot of courage to make a quit attempt. Many who attempt to quit are afraid of failing. However, research shows that the more a person attempts to quit the greater the chance of success. This means that an unsuccessful attempt can be looked at as a step in the right direction, part of a learning process rather than a failure.

    Hope this helps,
    Efram

    Hi Nubian,

It's great that you decided to quit smoking.  I know that just the thought of quitting can be daunting, but it really is possible to quit.  Try to keep yourself busy.  I found distracting myself with other things was really helpful when I first tried to quit.  And drink lots of water to help get rid of the toxins in your body.
