Just wanted to stop by and say hi to everyone. I just completed my first 24 hours smoke free. It hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be. One concern I've noticed is I feel a bit lightheaded but I'm not sure if it's from the patch or if it's from all the chemicals leaving my body from the cigarettes. Has anyone felt like this when they first quit? Hopefully it will ease up in a few days.

Hello, welcome shawnie, and congrats on day #1 of being smoke-free!!
What a pleasurable feeling that is not as challenging as you thought.
The lightheadness is common and is likely some withdrawal you're feeling. Your body is working hard to get well and heal, shawnie, so while it might be uncomfortable, it will get better each day.
Are you doing anything you find helpful to keep your mind off the symptoms?

Keep it up - and congrats again!!
    Sarah

    Hi Shawnie,

Welcome to our little community & huge congratulations on making the decision to quit smoking. Nice to hear your first 24 hours of withdrawals were not to bad for you other then the lightheadedness. Everyone is unique in their quit process, for myself  the cravings were extremely difficult  & I’m not sure I focused on anything else, other then just trying to get through those by keeping busy & drinking lots of lemon water. Once again welcome & keep up the great job!
