the first cigarette I smoked I was eleven. The first time I quit was after high school.  When I started College, it was just too cool that we were allowed to smoke in class, I started smoking again. The second time I quit that I was serious was at age 32 yrs.  It took me 3 years and 40 lbs, but I did it.  For like 17 years I was quit and then 3 years ago, I was having an innocent drink with a friend and he was smoking, I said, "gimme one of those".  After that I couldn't get them into my mouth fast enough, I was hooked, again. The next day I was up to basically a 25 pack a day. Just crazy.  I have been quit since August 21, 2018.  I finally grew up to the dangers, to the chunk out of my finances, and the fact that I only enjoyed so few of the hundreds I was smoking in a week.  It's a strong addiction for me so I don't take it lightly, but I am done.  This group has really helped especially the phone calls and the encouragement from other quitters, thx.  Whoa, it is hard to quit, for sure!!!

    Hey Glendagin,

Congratulations on your quit. It has been over a month now. This is certainly one of the toughest things to do but you are proving yourself to be tougher!

I hope it feels great to have that one month of money not spent on smoking and that it feels just as great physically not having that smoke in your system.

    Congratulations Glendagin,
    Be proud!
    Lillian
