   Hello everyone.
   I have quit smoking today and started the patch. I also have the lozenges both of which were supplied to me no cost from CAMH.
   I am 64 years young, I smoked as a teenager until my 30's. Started smoking 2 two years ago , and have always been disappointed that I started again.
   For the last year I have changed my diet to meat only and have cut way back on my alcohol consumption. I do feel better then I have in many years and my energy level is fantastic.....but the smoking is hurting all of my gains, so I have decided to embark on my hardest challenge yet. ( Quit smoking ).
   I have also decided to start walking each day. I look at it as a motivation to not smoke and also its peaceful and quiet.
   It is my pleasure to join this group . I look forward to your comments and ideas.

   Hi Jim

   Congratulations on deciding to quit, and I find this forum really helps, and everyone is very supportive. I'm 15 days smoke free, and I'm using the gum and inhaler, and never thought I'd get this far. No one's more surprised than me! It's good that you've started walking, and changing your routine.... plus getting fit. I'll be cheering you on in your journey

   Congrats Jim on quitting smoking. I always say one day at a time. It does get easier as time goes on. Keep on posting  it’s great to hear other stories
