    Good afternoon folks.

Me and other half spent weekend in BC with a wicked fun and great entertaining couple - so this is how it is for us non smokers?  I was out numbered and forced too do things on my own while they went out to smoke lol...
When the 1 half of that couple openingly admitted he missed my company,  I appreciated his honestly (and warmed my heart) that he misses me smoking!  And I did try to keep smokers company,  but the smoke smelled sooo good,  and then I was booted (I also appreciated that support) and forbidden to try again.
Thank goodness I'm still taking champix, as it super helps with cravings and all that!  The battle between 'oh my god that smells so good,  I want a cigarette ' and knowing 'there's a huge difference between the smell and the taste of a cigarette!' I can still remember how the taste of 1, how it wasn't very pleasant, therefore,   making it a total waste of a good smoke. That social aspect of smoking is a doosey!!!!
I silently resented them.... I struggle hard to not smoke,  for those minutes,  I am focused on doing what I can to stay not smoking,  - they come in smelling pleasant,  and carry on without regarding my struggle!  BUT!  They don't want me smoking <<< the irony hey lol
I am proud to say I am back home and still smoke free... Its been 41 days!!!

    Hi nerak47,

I get what you are saying.  I no longer go out with my friends at work to have a smoke.  They miss me and I miss them.  I will probably go out with them once in a while come the summer, but I sure was glad that I didn't have to bundle up 4 times a day this winter to go have a smoke!

You will get used to handling situations like that.  It is your new reality.  But remember.  You are far better off now that you don't smoke.  You did something extraordinary.  You quit smoking!  And you have 41 wonderful smoke free days under your belt!  Way to go, nerak47.  Stick to Not One Puff Ever and you will be fine.

    Hi nerak47,

Congratulations on 41 days of being smoke free! That's a huge accomplishment.

It can be tough being around other smokers. So glad to hear they were supportive and encouraged your quit.

Hi Nerak, you reminded me of old quit attempts when I wasn't smoking and at the Pub with my firends and every time one got up to go outside to smoke, I still went outside not realizing that I didn;t smoke.  It didn't bother me most of the time, but once in a while I'd get a doozy of a craving..  I had urges to go outside though, like I'd become a bit too hyper to just sit at the table.  That's another thing that smoking does to us, distracts us from just sitting, or staying focused and still for a length of time.  I sometimes feel I'd be almost diagnosable of attention deficit by the way I can't stay still.  It's getting much better though.  Congrats for getting through that weekend.  And trust me, I used to admire those that quit beofre me (everyone)!  And it'd remind me that I still had to quit, and it made me aware of it whenever someone else quit.  So you're one step ahead of the game, and they will eventually follow in their own time.
