Well I am now 12 weeks smoke free...I am no longer using the NRT patches and only use a 2 mg lozenges occasionally.   The journey has not been easy especially as my husband is still smoking but he is very supportive of me.  When I picked my quit date and planned my strategy for quitting this time, I made my main focus to concentrate on 1 day at a time and that is still my plan going forward.  I think of myself as a recovering smoker...knowing that if I slip I could have to start this process all over again.  I know this can happen as around 30 years ago I quit...then after 7 1/2 years of being smoke free...I went through a stressful time and started smoking again.

I am proud that I have made it this far and I know that it will keeping getting easier each day.

    Hi hilda1234,

WOOHOO! 3 whole months smoke free - way to go, Hilda!  You are getting it done!  And the fact that you have managed to quit even though your husband is still smoking is so awesome.  Good for you.  Talk about commitment!

I hope you do something nice for yourself.  You should really celebrate this huge accomplishment!

Keep the quit, Hilda, one day at a time.  Slow and steady wins the race!
