Good day, first time on this forum. Recently quit (21 days ago) via nicotine patch. Going well so far, would like to hear from others that quit using the patch so far.

    Hi Stephanie44,
21 days is an awesome feat!!!!  Congratulations!
I just want to share some advice I was given early in my quit.  Don't rush stepping down on the dose.  I think it was 9  weeks on step 1 for me before step 2 and another 6 wks until 5 wks on step 3.  Every time I stepped down I still thought the wheels were going to fall off my quit but they didn't.
Previous attempts to quit  were with champix and zyban but I credit the patch for helping me to succeed.  So hang in there and keep us updated.  You got this!!!!

Thanks for the recommendation, I was actually thinking of stepping down early due to overconfidence…I think it’s best to stick to the program.

Congratulations on day 1 sonjapartridge! It sounds like the combination therapy (patch and NRT gum) are working well for you.

I’m 66 days in using the patch and lozenges. I dropped down to the stage 3 patches yesterday and it has been tough today the least, not really a lot of cravings but irritability and exhaustion. In hindsight I wish I stayed longer on the previous step 1 & 2’s but here we are. I’ll push through it but be ready for a few not so nice days
