Hello everyone,
I’m a long time smoker finally realizing that I can’t do this on my own and hoping this site can provide support. I am the only smoker in my family and friend group. I have no one around that knows what quitting smoking feels like. I have been smoking since I was 13 years old! I’ve never tried life without addiction by my side. I have tried to quit so many times, in so many different ways. I don’t know what will actually work.
If anyone reads this, maybe you can tell me how you’re prepared for the first week after quitting? How you handled feeling awful, how you handled every cell in your body screaming for a cig?
If you were able to quit cold-turkey with no struggles, I’m very happy for you and congratulations, but this is very much not my situation. I don’t have that type of willpower I guess :-(
Other than being dropped off in complete isolation in a cabin in the woods, I have no idea how to stay quit. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!!
