Ive been smoking both tobacco and cannabis for over 10 years every day and I've quit cannabis here and there but never been able to get off the tobacco for more than a day. Nearly through my third full day and I feel absolutely crazy. Yesterday I was very restless and couldn't focus. A little moody. Today I was totally fine for most of it, thought it was going pretty well, then one little thing tipped me off and I just became a mess of tears and irrational thoughts. Just came to vent a bit here and see if anyone wanted to chat as no one in my personal life is interested in talking to me about this and I have been home alone with my thoughts for near a week.

Hang in there. It can be tough in the beginning but it is so worth it. The emotions are tough. I researched ways to deal with what I was going through mentally and physically. It’s a process. When the others in your life seem less than supportive, remember that no ones support matters more than your own and that there are others that understand what you are going through.

Hi Feelsbadman, I can really understand where you are coming from, as although I have quit for over 2 years I still would like to vent about my smoking/non smoking, but don't seem to connect with friends about these issues, and can seem frustrating at times. so checking out this helpline is a place where we can come together and feel welcome to share. it has helped me out lots of times just reading other posts. People are very supportive, and Im sure that it helped to keep me on my quit. And I agree with quit friend that you are your best friend! it also has been tough with Covid and we just have to remember we are not alone, and by being here we can help each other. Good to hear from you and hope your day is going ok. - mm

    Hi feelsbadman,

Congratulations on quitting! We have all been where you are, this is a super hard addiction to quit, but you are doing it, so hats off to you and hang in there, it is literally one day at a time! I know it might not seem like it right now but in time it will be less intense!

    Hi feelsbadman,

Yeah, those first few weeks can be really rough, but what you are feeling is completely normal.  You are trying to break free from a really powerful addiction.  Hang in there.  You rock, and you can do this!  Believe in yourself.
