I have tried at least 3 times in the past one year to quit smoking but have failed after 1 month of not smoking, i hope this is the last time i am quitting.

    Hi nishitpatel95,

The great thing about you is that you don't give up.  You keep trying to quit, which is wonderful.  Each time you try, you learn something about yourself, what works and what doesn't.

Remember to do things to distract yourself, and drink lots of water.  And each time you make it through a difficult time, give yourself a mental pat on the back.  Quitting is hard work.  Be kind to yourself through this process.

Congrats on sticking it out and coming back to your quit.

I  did cold turkey on my last quit - I decided that if I am going to do this I want ot be done with smoking and nicotine all at once. The first few weeks are always hard as you deal with withdrawal - both physical and mental. That you've managed to get to a month without smoking shows you that you can quit, you just need to learn how to be a non-smoker now.

Yes - spend your time learning to be a non-smoker. Take some time and watch what non-smokers do. It sounds weird, but it does help. I had a hard time just trying to picture taking my dog for a walk and not having a smoke, so I paired up with another dog walker and since she didn't smoke it was easier to walk along and not feel like i was missing something.

    Good luck with your quit.
