Quitting smoking is one of the most common New Year’s Resolutions. Whether you quit yesterday, a few months ago, a few years ago, or have a quit date coming up, I’m curious…why did you decide to go smoke free? What keeps you motivated to quit/continue with your quit?

    Hi Emily,

I decided to quit for myself, and for my son.
I stopped smoking on March 5, 2018 and it is now 321 days.

My son, who is now 10, begged me for years to not smoke, often daily and every time he saw me smoking.

    My reasons for quitting:
-My health - to stay healthy and get healthier
-To spend my money on living, not dying
-To have FREEDOM - I hated the hold that smoking had on me. I felt like I had chains on, outside smoking in the FREEZING COLD, and other places where it was just taking time I did not want to give
-to do my part to have a longer LIFE (hopefully) and spend it with my son and other loved ones.  the true meaning of LIFE
-To feel better, smell better, and focus my time and energy on things that really mattered.
-To prove to myself that I really could be in charge, not the drug nicotine and all of the chemicals in cigarettes
