I just had a tooth pulled. The last time that happened I was 15 years younger, and still a smoker. I remember the first thing I did when I left was to light up, even though they tell you not to smoke. What a dumb thing to do. So glad I no longer smoke, because I will heal so much faster, and believe me, that gets more and more important the older you get.
One of my friends needed a dental procedure, and the dentist refused to do it unless she quit smoking. That's how seriously it can impact the healing process. I give my friend a lot of credit, because she took his warnings to heart and she did in fact quit smoking. And she, too, loves being a non-smoker.
Sometimes we need a kick in the pants to get us on the right track. But it's so much better to do it on your own rather than being forced into it.
Just some food for thought.
