         Smoking can be the go-to for this trigger commonly. Did you know it is actually the deep breathing that calms us during stress-smoking? The calm we feel when we smoke also comes from relieving withdrawal symptoms. Nicotine is a stimulant of course!

    Stress is inevitable (unfortunately), BUT we can find healthy ways to manage/distract us from life's unfortunate times. As mentioned above, deep breathing is a great way to healthily manage stress. 

    What other healthy distractions have/can you try?

    as silly as it sounds I play online video games when at home which distracts me when i get right into it. where i waver is at work sitting in my car on a site not doing much (i work overnight security 12 hr shifts)

    Not silly at all @david2575, playing video games helps distract and keeps your hands busy too!
    Can you think of other strategies to pass the 12hour shifts?
    Maybe another member can tell us what has worked for them....

    What ever we do to get rid the stress it count as far is constructive and healthy!
    Like walking in place
    drinking plenty water
    deep briefing
    read something
    do something instead thinking  
    play puzzle
    etc...
    your lungs will be grateful
