Now I just checked my dashboard and am happy to see this :   257 days not smoked  and 5140 cigarettes not smoked
and 39 days of my life have been saved.'

I am just writing this to let any new comers here to know that I was in your spot right now ,counting the hours then days ,weeks now months and I was a hard core smoker I mean I loved my smokes but man they were killing me everyday. They needed to go. I did it cold turkey and I smoked like a chimney for 30 plus years and my journey to this point was hard at first but If I can do it , any one can .I just took one day at a time.I went to a part in the house that was quiet and to a certain point where I can try to get stronger I really had to isolate away from alot of people for awhile so if you can do that ,that is what helped me. When stresses found there way to me ,it was hard but trust me putting the smoke to your mouth is really gross trust me I did have a couple of slips for me it was so gross Im glad i did it because I was able to realize i really wasnt missing that gross disgusting in my mouth and on my hands I will never smoke again for that alone not to mention all the other illnesses it will cause. My brother was diagnossed with throat cancer about 2 months after I quit so wow thats pretty scary he now has a trach in his neck.Anyways Im feeling pretty good its been 8 months. I come in here every now and then and I re read my old post  that kept me going everyday and now here I am and I do not get cravings and I breath beautiful clean air everyday and I am so damn proud of myself . I really pray this help anyone out there just BELIEVE in yourself you can and will do this if you slip get back up on the bandwagon of non smokers and continue your non smoking journey my friends you will succeed.

    Hi LM 67!
Congrats on day 257 - and to think at one point we had to do it minute by minute, hour by hour (13 hours and counting) ....craving by craving but............we did it and, yes, ALL of us can succeed.

    Hi lisa marie 67,

Way to go on 8 months smoke free!  That is AMAZING!

Oh yes, how you struggled.  Quitting isn't easy, that's for sure, especially for those of us who smoked most of our lives.  But you are absolutely right.  If you can quit, anyone can.  And it all begins with a sincere desire to quit.

I am glad to hear you are proud of yourself.  You should be!  Congratulations, lisa marie 67.  You rock!
