I’m not new to the forum but have been away from it for quite awhile. I made it over two years and seven months and then overwhelming stress got to me and I started again in November. Today I put on the patch again. I have been wondering every evening what am I doing. I cough and choke and felt so much better when I quit. I felt nervous putting on the patch again. What if I fail? I tried to quit so many times before my last success. The last time I quit I decided that smoking wasn’t an option and decided to do whatever it took to deal with how I felt as it happened. I researched how to deal with emotions and ways to distract myself. I hope to take this same approach and any other things I learn as I make this attempt. I have learned from my previous experience. I hope it’s for good and I can get past my doubtful moments.

Sorry things got stressful for you but I give you credit for trying after you relapse. It’s harder than a lot of people will ever know. At least you haven’t totally given up! Good luck and best wishes!

Youre not alone quitfriend. As long as we never quit quitting.. thats whats important right? We will get there if we keep trying and never give up. The guilt from a relapse is awful and its so easy to slip and fall back into our old ways but we have been here before and know how we felt so much better when we didnt smoke.

I started again last July and after a month or so I was smoking more than ever. Now I have a rotten cough I cant get rid of, bank balance is scary... and I just feel like crap so I know I have to give this another go if I wanna start having a nice life again and I do want that. So keep the focus and keep going.
