    Hi everyone 👋,
Congratulations to everyone who has managed to quit, or is in the process. I'm trying to quit again after what feels like a million attempts! My longest time smoke free was 3 weeks, and for whatever reason, I caved, and was right back at it. I'm feeling more determined this time, and really want to lose the smoker cough, feel better, and save money. I've smoked for 44 years, and that's enough. I really appreciate how supportive everyone is on these forums, and we all understand how addictive cigarettes are. Hoping for success this time.

I wish you the best in your quit. You can do it. One day at a time.

Just wanting to send you support and remind you that each and every time you quit in the past was a success too, because you pushed through it to the other side. You can't tell yourself it's not possible, because you know you can do it, and you have those points of reference that can be the wind at your back. May the wind push you beyond where you've gone before!!

All my best wishes "Dogmother" ! Congratulations for your strength!   I have been smoke free since one month now, after 37 years of smoking. It is not easy for sure, but I am already so happy for this milestone.

    Hi 👋 Everyone,
Well...... I'm back..... again, and I feel like I should be in the Guinness Book of Records for quit attempts! Thank you to everyone for the encouragement in the past, and now that the weather is getting nicer, I'm trying to get out more to distract myself from the cravings. I've always walked my dogs daily, but today, I actually went Pole Walking and managed to do 4 kilometers without too much trouble breathing. I'm trying to stay busy, and my house has never been so clean! Hoping to kick the habit for good this time, and congratulations to everyone taking this journey. I wish everyone well.

    Welcome back dogmother,

You quit before and you know you can do it again! Slips and relapses are a normal part of the quitting process. We like to view them as learning opportunities. They can let you know that you may still have some work to do. Sounds like distraction is a strategy that works well for you. Getting out with the dogs, pole walking and household chores are great ways to keep yourself busy.

So happy that you found your way back to the forum. Always lots of support and encouragement here! Never quit quitting because you never know...this quit could be your last!

    Hi Karen
Thanks so much for the encouragement, and so far so good. Still smoke free, and keeping busy. I really enjoy hearing others stories and tips, and this forum is great.

Keep going dogmother. We have all been there and understand exactly how difficult it is to quit. Its takes many of us multiple attempts but with each try we are preparing ourselves for the ultimate quit that will end all quits.
Im like you... longest quit was 6 months last year and everything was going so well... but i foolishly slipped and was right back to square one. Im right on the cusp of finally just making a go for it again but life is stressful right now, a lot going on, so to really commit is tricky. But I will do it. As I mentioned in another thread, Ive now managed to totally quit them at work... now I just need to work on the hometime ones. Money is tight this week till pay day so I have that as an excuse and I have the patch on and the puffers by my side... I nearly prefer the fruity taste of the puffer now so thats a step in the right direction....

Keep strong, know its worth it in the end after the initial struggles. We can do this.
