Hello Khick77,
Have you quit smoking? If you have, a common withdrawal symptom is coughing but not everyone coughs. So it is very normal if you do or don't cough, when quitting. If you are sneezing, this is also a very common withdrawal symptom. Usually with withdrawals, it usually starts a few hours after you quit smoking and then peak in 2-3 days and then after a week or so, most withdrawal symptoms are gone.
If you are using the patch and inhaler that's excellent. This will help soften any withdrawals you may have and help with the cravings and urges.
So rest assured, not everyone coughs after quitting smoking and your lungs are still repairing themselves and getting healthy, with or without coughing.
Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any other questions,
Renee
