Hi Debbie and welcome to the forum.  This place is great at supporting new and old quitters alike.

Hang on tight, the first few days can be quite a bumpy ride.  But I PROMISE you it does get EASIER, and it does get BETTER.  It gets sooooo much better.

Have you done the exercises/quit plan here?  They are a great way to reflect on why we quit.

Stay close, and celebrate each craving you quash.

    Hi Debbie!

Nice to have you here, and congratulations on 5 hours smoke-free!

Yes, you may be going "a little crazy" -- but the decision you made to quit smoking is the sanest, healthiest choice you could possibly make, and now the rest is just about staying true to that choice.

By joining us here you have added support in place from people like efreeman who know the ropes and can understand what you're going through! Like he said, it will get EASIER and BETTER, especially after the first few days of adjustment.

Remember to breathe, stay hydrated, pamper yourself as you see fit over the first few days, and, especially, remember why you decided to quit!

If you would like added one-on-one support from a Quit Coach, feel free to call us at 1-877-513-5333.

    Best Wishes,
    Efram

    Hi Debbie,

First of all, congratulations on your quit and thanks for sharing this good news with us because it's hard to quit.

I like the way you started your sentence “My name is Debbie and today is the first day of the rest of my life! 5 hours smoke free…” it proves that you are proud of your 5 hours smoke-free.

Correct me if I’m wrong but now it's been over 5 hours smoke-free?
    How's everything going so far?
Debbie are you using any nicotine replacement therapy?

As already mentioned remember to breathe, stay hydrated, pamper yourself as you see fit over the first few days, and, especially, remember why you decided to quit and also to reward yourself for your progress. Rewarding is one of the most important things you can do to help yourself stay on track.

Please feel free to call a Smokers’ Helpline Quit Coach at 1-877-513-5333 for more support.
