Hi I’m new here I’ve smoked over 20 years and decided I’d quit. Well 2 weeks ago I was so excited, yesterday came and it was like oh crap what am I doing.

So day 1 at work have my chewing gum, water and so far so good till I go home,my partner smokes I asked him to go outside and his excuse it’s hot outside and sunny. I don’t want think I’m being mean 🤷‍♀️ he was supposed to quit but decided not to. I’m a survivor and keep telling myself I got this.  Just venting

Hey molasses#72! Welcome to the forums, and thanks for adding your voice to the discussion. I hope that you've been able to stay strong, but sorry to hear about the moodiness and extra challenge of quitting with your partner smoking still.

Moodiness can take a while to pass with quitting smoking. In the meantime, I hope that the chewing gum and water help. If it gets overwhelming you can talk with a pharmacist or other healthcare provider to see if they might recommend a quit aid to lessen withdrawal symptoms.

Keep taking good care of yourself. You're a survivor which means that you have a lot of strength and persistence.

I started Sept 16th as well.   Was using nicorette gum but cold turkey the last 5 days.
Good luck to you, this is not fun but absolutely necessary
