I am currently using the 21 mg patch and haven't used any other forms to help me through my cravings. Have been doing pretty good but still kind of feeling my way around stuff though. it is only day 4 for me today but was asked the question do you think you will move down in the patch? I never thought of that and how will I know if am ready to do that. step down to the 14 mg patch. I don't know when that will be. don't know how to tell if am ready. I do still have some cravings not too much during the day and past couple of mornings have been able to go past the time put patch on day before without thinking about it or too much trouble. only thing was this morning I woke up at 7 and puttered around feeding my kitty and doing little things and then decided to have my shower before put my patch on and then s soon as got out of the shower I noticed was being hit with a craving. didn't go rushing or anything I just like a routine went to the table and put the patch and tegaderm on. am not sure if was an actual craving or if was just in my mind that didn't have patch on and started that feeling going. can anyone help me so maybe will help me with this. when was having cravings that just wouldn't let up this morning and would try to distract somehow my mind kept wanting to go back to a cigarette so I came here as find it very helpful reading the posts and find things that help me too that I try.

    Hi tiny

I could not worry about going down for a wile as far you don't smoke!

You will know if you are ready, only you!
    Keep the good work!

Remember, as far you have support, enjoy life! Distract your self, you might experience some cravings, but are manageable? if not, relax, give your self a break, go for a walk, watch a movie, etc.

All the best, you can do it!

    Hi tiny2018,
It's good to hear that you are working through the cravings. Some people say they do notice a difference when they step down a level on the patches. It's important to remember those tips, tools and strategies to help you through. Don't be afraid to try the fast acting nicotine replacement products (i.e. gum, lozenges, quick mist, etc.) as you transition.
Maybe the day you plan to step down, have something set to do (i.e. go shopping, be outside of the house, and just generally stay busy)
