    Hello,

I didn’t find much on reviews for laser treatment (for quitting) via Google, so I’m asking here. Does anyone have anything to share on this?

    thanks,

    scott

    Hi Scottt,

Hopefully some other members will be able to share their experiences with you. Here is what we know:

The highest success rates are for people who actively work with a program that has some counselling or support, like Smokers' Helpline, and also use a medical treatment like nicotine replacement therapy (patch, gum, inhaler, lozenge), Zyban or CHAMPIX.

There are other programs, methods, and resources such as laser therapy that some people have found useful. However, at this point, their overall effectiveness has not yet been proven for us to provide a recommendation.

    Best,

    Jenna Lee

    Hi Scottt,

As I gently push the quitting textbook aside, let me say that I truly believe that whatever works is worth it.  Perhaps the lack of information is indicative of its success?  True story - a house about 8 doors down from myself, has a neon sign in their window offering laser treatment to quit smoking.  Ironically, many times when I walk by, there is a lady smoking on the front step under the sign.

In all seriousness though, there are many aids, but the decision has to be made to never smoke again.  Prescriptions, Laser, Hypnosis, Nicotine Drips, Books, Meditation - they all assist, but it is YOU that must truly want to quit.  There are many here to prove it is possible.  And it is possible for YOU too.
