Well, July 22nd before dinner was my last cigarette but the 23rd was my first full day.  I am using the patch and lozenges.  It is....easier than I expected?  Well, other than yesterday when I forgot the patch and I am lucky I am not divorced, LOL.  I was raging something awful and poor hubby caught the brunt of it.

It seems for me that it is the mechanics of smoking as much as the nicotine addiction.  That is what has me, I don't know what to do with my hands when I am bored.  I keep thinking that just ONE will satisfy that urge and resisting.  But then I walked past smokers and didn't think that it smelled good, it was revolting.  So, I am just confused but hanging in there.

I just read that I am not a smoker and it hit me! I AM NOT A SMOKER.  I cried...happy, confused and proud tears.

Thanks for letting me say this, no one I know would understand as I am literally the only smoker in my circle.

    Hi khalania,

Congratulations on going smoke free. The mechanics are a definite factor as I well know from my quit five months ago. I keep my hands busy weeding the gardens, housekeeping and doing hobbies. I just do not give myself time to think about it!

Wishing you another smoke free day!

    Hi khalania,

A huge congrats to you on your quit! How fortunate you are to have good support from us and your hubby!

There are so many parts to smoking: social, emotional, physical (hand-to-mouth), physiological (nicotine) and each person has their own combination of struggles.

brieffree and eagerquit - great ideas on distractions and ways to keep your hands busy. I wonder, khalania, if you have found anything that has been working for you.

Additionally, what a beautiful moment you had for yourself, changing your identity and how you see yourself...

All the best to come, and looking forward to hearing how you are doing!
