Good morning margie55
Celebrate each and every day smoke free - I understand what an accomplishment that it! I have quit since March 5 - I haven't counted how many days that is - between 3 and 4 weeks! and I am amazed!
I have quit many many times in the 35 years that I have smoked. Slipped and relapsed. Last night, I dreamed that I smoked - 2 cigarettes. That is a new experience since I quit this last time - dreaming about smoking. I remember thinking in my dream - 'oops - you don't smoke anymore' and thinking about it more as a mistake or misstep than a going back to the old habit again.
I still chew Nicorette gum and take some nicotine lozenges, although it seems to be less each day. I haven't had many days of really strong cravings, but there have been some surprising days when I really want to smoke, or dream about it - seemingly out of the blue! But then I think about it - I smoked for a really really long time! 35 years - and so it's only natural that my body and my brain will remember and want that sensation, that habit, that feeling. But I am enjoying my freedom, my savings, my energy, my health......
Keep going Margie55 - you can do it!
