Hi I'm a non smoker as of Jan 25 /18.   I've tried so many times and returned to smoking. I' tired of my life being controlled by an addiction. Bought the book by Allen Carr' easy way to stop smoking. Believe in his findings and am so happy with my decision to quit on my own terms, no drugs. It' unbelievable how easy it is to be a non smoker finally . I reread his book to keep focused and recharge my new life. I'l never puff again .

I stopped smoking dec 24 2017 due to hospitalization!  Not so hard when I was in pain and medicated.  Harder now I am out and about again.  In the car is still the worst craving.   Made this decision before I left hospital, also used Allen Carr Easy way, that has been a huge help to me also.  Really happy to hear so much gungho on your part.  Easy?  Not for a minute but certainly doable.

    Hi minnow,

Congratulations to you for deciding to quit.  It's great that the book helped you so much, and that it is much easier for you now.  I love your enthusiasm, and your positive attitude is going to help you to keep your quit.

Toodoo, you were really smart to decide to quit when you were still in the hospital, because the process had already begun.  But I can understand how you are struggling now.  It is one thing to be forced to stop smoking, and something entirely different when you have the freedom to choose. You probably have so many memories of smoking, especially in your car.  The thing is, you have to give yourself time to create new memories that don't involve smoking.  Try to focus on all the benefits of not smoking.  And reward yourself on a regular basis, so that you will start to associate not smoking with happy things.  Day by day it will get a bit easier.  Hang in there, you're doing great.

So thrilled to hear, minnow & toodoo, that you found methods and strategies to help you quit and stay quit. Cravings & urges to smoke are a regular part of quitting, but your both have some strong motivations to quit, which will help you get through them.
