    hello everyone
my name is Garry I've smoking a very long time tried to quit numerous times, last week I think I had a nervous  breakdown at work I have been under a lot of stress at work at home and personal life. first thing was 4 years ago my wife of 32 years was diagnosed with terminal cancer at the time I was trying to quit and started back up but as a closet smoker so I would only smoke by myself I was also on champex then 2 years ago diagnosed with diabetes, a the same time things at work started to go bad, not getting along with a new co-worker and management to the point of quitting my job do to mental heath issues, so back to smoking.
So today aug 2 2021 I decided to quit smoking again and add more stress to my life not only that I'm starting a new job on Tuesday. I think I have a pretty good plan for all of this my thinking is to remove my stresses 1 is my job second is quit smoking and the most important is spending my time with my wife for how long she has.

    Hi Garry,

Welcome to our little community & congratulations on making the decision to quit smoking. Quitting is hard, I quit several times like & was also a longtime smoker like you as well. You are going through a lot, especially with your wife, sorry to hear about her being sick. Stresses are huge contributors  in relapse, along with cravings, so having some good supports in place for yourself will be very beneficial through difficult times. Keep coming on here, talk to support people, deep breath, drink water, distract yourself by keeping busy. You can do this. I’m rooting for you. Wishing you all the best!
