It has been a week and I've felt like garbage ever since I quit. I'm exhausted at the end of the day (i Know that is from fighting with my brain all day)  and my sleep is horrible. I almost fell asleep in the car at a stop light yesterday. I had to turn around and go home.  I was at a cottage on the weekend and my voice sounded like Susan St. James'! (anybody under the age of 50 won't know who that is)  This morning, I woke up with a lovely cold. I almost cracked this morning and bummed a smoke from a guy in front of my building.

    When does it get better?

    Hi Pinetree,

I have been smoke free for the past two and a half months and one time or another experienced what you are going through. I can tell you my physical exhaustion was much more extreme before I quit than it is today. In fact, I am enjoying long walks that would have winded me before I quit. I too had some sleep issues after I quit but it is not the problem today that it was. I feel so much more energetic and healthy now. Hang in there, it will get better. McMillan's wife never had it so good.

    Hello Pinetree,

Congratulation on your quit. It sounds like you are experiencing some common withdrawal symptoms. It won’t last forever and keep in mind that your body is healing and adjusting you the changes happening.

Eagerquit and Brieffree brought up some good points and suggestions. Rest when you can, exercising also has its benefits too. Feel free to speak with a quit coach from the helpline: 1-877-513-5333.

One day at a time and keep up the good work.

    Valerie

Thanks for the positive feedback.  Interesting that you got the McMillan and Wife reference. Voice is somewhat back to normal so that is a good thing
