I'm 5 days into this journey and I feel good. The cravings tend to catch me off guard sometimes and the evenings are the worst. But, I have my candy jar full of scotch mints beside me for when other tactics don't work. I am determined to beat this bad habit to the curb!

I hope you all enjoy a smoke free day :)

i like you are still very young at this quit, 8 days now and i am hardly thinking about the nicodemon.  it turns out that i can have a full life without it, probably fuller than with it!!!!  best advice i received today, and i will quote "be firm with yourself."   breath some fresh air, and research is finally out, do not use any know of electronic screen for more than 2 hours per day.  it leads to anxiety and depression.       cheers,   and keep up the fight.       d

    Congratulations to both of you!

Wow, day 5 and 8. Generally, it sounds like things are going well, you are both feeling good. There will always be harder times such as what you mentioned susanm, however, you do have the strategies (and support from us here) to keep you going. It seems like they're working to keep it up!

bdmoro, thanks for sharing your wisdom. Do what makes you feel good in order to help beat cravings and withdrawal.

Keep up the great work and thanks for posting,

    Jenna Lee

    Hi susanm and bdmoro,

It is true! There is life after quitting smoking and I have 35 more days of it since quitting according to my dashboard. I have done Scotch mints myself for a while now. Its a nice replacement for NRT.

Wishing you another smoke free day!

    Eagerquit

Eagerquit, congratulations to you on 35 days  more of your life back by being smoke free. I look forward to being able to say that myself.

    Hi susanm and bdmoro,

I am so happy for both of you!  I know it's really hard when you are first starting out.  But we all start from zero and work our way up hour by hour, day by day.  You know how time flies.  My family and friends can't believe that I have been a non-smoker for 19 months.  And the same thing will happen for you, too.

I love your spirit and determination!  You are stronger than your addiction, and you will be triumphant.  Drink your water to help get rid of the toxins in your body.  Distract yourself, and enjoy your mints.  And keep us posted on your progress.  You deserve to live a smoke free life.  Believe in yourself.  You can do this!
