   Hi All,  My quit day is in 1 week, August 20.  I've smoked off and on for 35 years.  In the past I've quit cold turkey for years at a time.  This time though I've been trying to quit for 2-3 years unsuccessfully. I've tried the patch a couple of times (just smoked while I wore it).  I tried hypnosis (really expensive and didn't help).  For medical reasons I couldn't take Champix until now.  I was cleared to take Champix and started taking it 13 days ago.   So far I'm having good success.  I was a pack a day smoker. I've cut back my smoking by 1/2 and am working on cutting it by about 2/3's over the next few days.  My plan is to be down to just a few cigarettes a day by my quit day.

   Hello Kathyquits,
   
   Welcome and good for you on your attempt to quit. Great that you feel Champix is already working for you. Ideally you can quit 8-35 days after starting Champix so you are well on your way!

   I think it's great that you are on Champix and are finding it helpful.  You have already cut down so drastically, wow.  Keep up the good work.  You are strong and determined, and you can do this.
