Today is day 5 for me and have had 4 days smoke free. the cravings have snuck up on me and I have used the losenges to help me when it gets too much. I have also been trying to stay in the present and just keep living every moment and not trying to think so much about my quit and all the cravings and stuff that could happen. tonight though has been really tough for me with being close to giving in to the major craving that happened. I have been going through a very bad time with having to put my kitty down and keep blaming myself that I didn't do enough or I shouldn't have made the decision I made to help her and was really emotionally in pain and almost tearing myself apart then came the thinking as struggled through that that if I have a smoke it will help and all this pain I am having will be a bit easier. this thinking went on for about a minute or so then I started thinking about the posts here and everyone that helps with support in my quit and that thinking that having a smoke seemed not as big and the fact I could come here and read the posts and see the support became way bigger than the nicodemon that was trying to take over and tell me smoking is gonna make it feel better. as that nicodemon became smaller and the thinking I know I can come here to read the posts and get some support became so big I was able to shake myself out of that thinking and came to my computer and started to read the posts. the things I am going through not too sure what will happen but I do feel stronger knowing I can come here to read the posts and support to help me with my quit going through this. I thank you

I made it through day 5 smoke free and am on to day 6. I feel good that I made it through day 5. I woke up this morning and felt so much better. I didn't even think or need my lozenge until around 11 this morning. watched a movie strait through without having to pause it to rush outside and was able to relax and enjoy the movie. feel better today. last night was super tough and I almost caved in to the craving but I was able to stay strong and came and read the posts.

    Hi tiny2018,

Congratulations on making it through day 5 and getting to day 6! It's great to hear that you are feeing good that you resisted your cravings and are feeling better for it; you should be proud! It sounds like being able to sit through a movie and relax to enjoy it is a benefit for you. It might be helpful to know that if you can get through a week, you're nine times more likely to stay smoke-free! Nearly there! Keep going!

Also, brieffree is right, what you were feeling is normal. It's great you're using the lozenge as you need to help with your cravings. Keep us updated.

    Hi tiny2018,

I am so proud of you for not giving in and staying strong!  Way to go!

I know it's hard to fight the cravings, but in order to quit smoking for good, you just have to keep saying no.  And you have to find other ways to deal with stress.  You did just that when instead of lighting up, you decided to come here and read some posts.  That was a really smart thing to do.  I remember that when I was quitting, I practically lived on this site.  It was all the wonderful people here who helped me to become a non-smoker.  And we are here for you, too.

Keep up the good work, tiny2018.  You are doing a terrific job.  You are changing your life for the better, and breaking the chains of this rotten addiction.  Remember, Not One Puff Ever.  I am rooting for you!

    Good evening,

Hang in there tiny2018 and congrats on day 6! The first two weeks are the most challenging but keep the lozenges handy and stay busy so you will be distracting yourself. Deep breathing exercises and getting fresh air can help you with stress, among other activities.

Thanks for the nice words, treepeo we all hope you are doing well!!
