Good for you Barb!  It always takes so long to make an attempt to quit, so congratulations!  Read everything, do things you love, and try and coast through the challenges.  Reach out when you need support.

    Hi barb,

Way to go!  It's great that you have decided to quit smoking.  Drink lots of water, and keep busy to distract yourself from cravings.  You are stronger than your addiction, and you can do this!  Believe in yourself!

    Hi Barb,

Congratulations on your commitment. I made mine on March 7 and have been smoke free ever since. The freedom from addiction is amazing.

    Good afternoon Barb,

Congrats on making a life changing decision...you will find great reads in here.  One day you will be coming back and giving some thoughts to someone else who will be a 'newbie'. Have fun and keep coming back and sharing.
My quit day is Feb 6 and smoke free ever since! We can beat and succeed!!!

Thank you all for your great support.  It is tough but this is making things much easier.  My biggest problem, other than quitting, is that my computer is so slow and it takes so long when I am in the Community Forum to see everything.  But believe me - I am here and like to see how everyone is doing...it is nice to know one is not alone.

    Hi Barbpm,

You are quite right. We are not alone. I draw a lot of strength from the support and reading about others' successes in the Forums.

Hi Barb. I believe you and I have a lot in common because I have just made the conscious choice to quit as well. I keep thinking to myself "why do I want to smoke?" other than it settles my cravings and "feels good". Your health is so much more important. We can do it Barb!
