I was 2.5 yrs smoke free.. then Jan 13th the man I have been with for close to 26yrs tells me and our son that he is leaving because he has fallen in love with his best friend's wife and he is going to be with her. As you can imagine we are both devastated. My well meaning friends who smoke would offer me a cigarette when I was telling them about this situation and now I am smoking more and more each passing day. I cannot stand the smell and know that I am not being a good role model to my 16yr old son so I have picked Monday Feb 12th as my quitting day. Wish me luck. I have re-downloaded the Quit Smoking app that helped me last time and found this website so hoping I can be smoke free once again. Prayers/tips/inspirational words are welcome.

    Hi chromequeenb,

Welcome to Smokers' Helpline Online. I think you will find a lot of support, information, and tips here.

It sounds like you have given quitting a lot of thought and have a good plan in place to get started on Monday. Please feel free to post as often as you need.

Look forward to hearing about your quit.
    Emily

    Hi chromequeenb,

Don't give him that kind of power over you.  You only restarted recently.  Tell yourself that you are worth way more than that (because you definitely are), dust yourself off, and start over again.  You owe it to yourself and to your son.  You are strong enough to do this.  Believe in yourself, and work towards creating a great future for yourself.
